SASSA Disability Grant Increase 2024
On 21 February 2024, the Minister of Finance, Mr. Enoch Godongwana, announced in his Budget Speech for the financial year of 2024-2025 that a large number of our population depends on grants to meet their expenses. In view of this, we are increasing the amount of the SASSA Disability Grant from April 2024.
From Budget Day 21-02-2024, the South African Social Security Agency’s Disability, The Older Age Pension, The Care Dependency for Childern, and War Veterans Grants have been increased by R100. Prior to this increase, the amount paid to beneficiaries up to March 2023 was R2090. The Ministry of Finance has decided to pay R100 in two installments, R90 & R10.
How to Apply for Disability Grant 2024
You have to visit your closest SASSA office to apply. If you are unable to travel due to mobility, visual impairments, or illness, a family member or a friend can visit and apply on your behalf.
